The Role:
Our client is looking for a Taxonomist to The Knowledge Management group is looking for a taxonomist to lead taxonomy governance for eservices with an eye on expanding the role to an enterprise-wide position. This person will also act as a backup and additional taxonomist to the primary taxonomist. Stakeholders include the ontology governance group, product management group, taxonomists, ontologists, business unit stakeholders and IT developers. It is expected that this role will have a heavy communications component including education. This is a position for someone who wants to make a significant impact on a large corporation.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience working in taxonomy management and governance in a large organization.
- Proven record of creating taxonomies from business requirements.
- Experience researching, identifying, and documenting requirements, as well as enforcing standards, agreements, and charters.
- Understanding of content management and development, as well as search and retrieval tools.
- Self-starter with a curious mind and good discernment. Proven ability to navigate through ambiguity.
- Able to work within a complex environment with many stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of ontologies (mainly semantic).
- Fluent in English.
- Available to work during US time zones, when needed.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience with SKOS standards.
- Experience working with Graph databases, ontologies, and Natural Language.
- Processing strategies (NLP) for relevant and robust optimization.
- Knowledge of tools like Semantic Web Pool Party, and/or Graph DB Ontotext a plus.
